I posted this as a news story on Geeksters.org and I thought I would mention is here because it is quite important:

This exploit has been giving many users problems when they have tried to click on malformed Windows Media Player links. This exploit is a serious one, and I recommend you patch your Windows as quickly as possible. Although this problem reared it's ugly head last week, an "unofficial" patch made it's way through the Internet. If you installed this patch, the new Microsoft "official" patch will not create any problems for you. This is a quick turnaround for Microsoft when it comes to patches as usually they are late on issuing patches.
